The origins of the Feria de Dax
When you come to the Landes region in August, it's inconceivable that you won't make it to the Feria de Dax. It's a rite of passage for all the younger generations.
Nearly 600,000 participants take to the streets of Dax for 5 days and 5 nights to celebrate the Assumption and chase the Landes cows and bulls.
Costume parades and a host of events take place over the 5 consecutive days to bring the town to life.
At nightfall, the Dax arenas welcome the many spectators for the races and bullfights. All you need to do is dress in red and white! A love of partying will also help you to blend in with the locals.
The programme for the Feria de Dax 2023
Once again this year, the town of Dax will be decked out in red and white for an attractive programme of festivities from Friday 11 to Tuesday 15 August 2023.
Attend bullfights every evening in a family-friendly atmosphere. Shows are also planned in the town's arenas to entertain the crowds.
